Il nous a \u00e9t\u00e9 demand\u00e9 la r\u00e9alisation d&#8217;une image pour illustrer cette d\u00e9couverte en couverture de revue scientifique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les cellules vivantes sont naturellement capables de transporter des \u00e9l\u00e9ments chimiques \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur d&#8217;elles-m\u00eame. L&#8217;un de ces m\u00e9canismes est appel\u00e9 endocytose et consiste \u00e0 l&#8217;invagination de la membrane cellulaire (membrane bi-phospholipidique repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en bleu-vert) lorsque des mol\u00e9cules sp\u00e9cifiques (ici polysaccharides repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s en violet) sont fix\u00e9es sur des r\u00e9cepteurs (prot\u00e9ines intra-membranaires en vert). Ce m\u00e9canisme se poursuit par la formation d&#8217;une v\u00e9sicule contenant les mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 transporter, et qui sera migr\u00e9e puis vid\u00e9e vers le noyau cellulaire qui contient l&#8217;ADN (repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 en blanc).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ce laboratoire de recherche s&#8217;est aper\u00e7u qu&#8217;il \u00e9tait possible de cibler et d\u00e9truire des cellules canc\u00e9reuses en permettant la fixation d&#8217;atomes de fer sur les mol\u00e9cules transport\u00e9es dans la cellule, et de saturer le noyau en atomes de fer (ici repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s en orang\u00e9).
